New Port Richey Council Elections Set for April 14, Two Seats Available

New Port Richey is seeking qualified candidates for the April 14, 2015 election of two Councilmember seats on the New Port Richey City Council.

Those seats are currently held by Councilwoman Judy deBella Thomas and Councilman Bill Phillips. Both have indicated that they will run again for their seats. If elected, this will be Mrs. Thomas’ third consecutive term.

The Councilmember’s term is three years, and may run for a total of three consecutive terms, or nine years in office.

The qualifying week begins on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at noon in the City Clerk’s Office, and ends on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at noon. No applications will be accepted after that time.

Candidates seeking the post must be city residents within the incorporated limits of New Port Richey and must have resided at that location for at least six months prior to the election.

Persons wishing to run for Councilmember of New Port Richey can receive their qualifying documents at the City Clerk’s Office anytime Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. They do not have to wait for the qualifying period to request and complete their documents.
