On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!, Jun. 18 – Aug. 6 (Sign up Jun. 1)
Our summer reading initiative encourages students to continue reading and prevent “summer learning loss.” We consistently help readers not only maintain but also improve their reading levels over the summer. All classes and events are developed by our Youth Education Librarian, Jessica. You’ll find her methods have changed a bit this summer. Rather than logging time spent reading over the course of a week, students are encouraged to develop the habit of reading at least 20 minutes a day (30 minutes for teens). Enrollees will receive a calendar, along with a list of “bonus challenges” that can be checked off to receive prizes. We will also present a variety of performers, more crafts, and special events such as our annual “Chopped” competition and after-hours laser tag! No charge.

Beef up your brain with books this summer and enter weekly drawings for chances to win local restaurant gift cards, book bags, and other prizes.
