New Port Richey crews demolished three properties in the last two weeks:

Each of the three blighted properties demolished fell under the City’s “Slum and Blight” ordinance. Under the City’s ordinance, if a structure meets one or more of seven criteria, the structure can be designated as “blight” and ordered demolished. All of the criteria relate directly to the safety and well-being of surrounding structures and residents, and the structural integrity of the buildings. The City currently has a pending list of structures that are to be demolished.
The owners of record for 6605 Madison Street are James and Tracy Piscitelli. No phone or contact information for the owners could be located.
5810 Tennessee Avenue is listed in the estate of a Soccoro Betancourt.
5162 Idlewild Street is listed as owned by Bank of America – North America. A phone call to a Bank of America corporate office seeking comment was not returned.
Other properties have been targeted under the ordinance in the past. View those articles here and here.
