NPR Police Ask for Citizen Tips to Stop Illegal Dumping

New Port Richey Police issued a “citizen alert” last week asking that residents keep an eye out for illegal dumping activities. The department and the City are offering a $100 reward for any information that leads to the prosecution of an individual under the illegal dumping ordinance. Fines for violating the ordinance can amount to up to $500.

Illegal Dumping

The City of New Port Richey is committed to keeping our community beautiful and we need your help. In accordance with our city ordinance we are asking that citizens report illegal dumping.

Any person who provides the city with information leading to the conviction of a person who violates this ordinance may receive a reward of up to $100.

Safety first!
1. Do not approach or approach anyone you see illegally dumping.
2. Get their vehicle information if possible; only from a safe distance (Landscaping trucks etc. have the company name on the side).
3. Do not follow any person you see illegally dumping

Please contact our department at (727) 841-4550. Be sure to provide the location of the illegal dumping, as well as your contact information in the event you qualify for the reward.

Residents with information can also submit information (anonymously if they wish) via the NewsPortRichey crime form.
