NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – Pasco County Board of County Commissioners is partnering with Keep Pasco Beautiful in a Tire Recycling BOGO (bring one tire for recycling, get one recycled of for FREE) pilot collection event Sunday, September 20, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event will be at the Pasco County Class III Landfill at the West Pasco Resource Recovery Facility, 14606 Hays Road, Spring Hill 34610.
The one day Tire Disposal BOGO event is promoting the mission and efforts of Keep Pasco Beautiful and Pasco County, encouraging our residents to properly dispose of used tires. The current cost to dispose of a tire at this facility is $1.00 per tire. During the Tire Disposal BOGO, a resident can bring one tire for disposal at $1.00 and will not be charged for the second tire for disposal. This is a residential program with a limit of 10 tires per vehicle, and proof of Pasco County residency is required to qualify. Only passenger and light truck tires will be accepted. Coupons for the event may be printed from www.KeepPascoBeautiful.org. A coupon must be presented to receive the discount. “Hopefully this event will keep used tires off of the sides of the road in Pasco County,” said William Rodriguez, Pasco County Utilities Compliance Project Coordinator. “It’s a great opportunity to educate residents on proper disposal and the services offered at the Pasco County Class III Landfill at the West Pasco Resource Recovery Facility.”
The Tire Recycling BOGO event will be coordinated by Pasco County staff; Kristen King, Keep Pasco Beautiful Coordinator; Jennifer Seney, Pasco County Recycling Coordinator; John Power, Pasco County Solid Waste Director; Robert Sigmond, Pasco County Utilities Administration and Support Services Director; Charles Ryburn, Pasco County Utilities Environmental/Hazardous Manager. Additional partners for this initiative include the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Pasco County Mosquito Control, and the Pasco County Environmental Crimes Task Force.
