The “Friends of the Hacienda Hotel and Historic New Port Richey” is having a ribbon cutting ceremony at the historic downtown Hacienda Hotel Wednesday, September 9th at 4:00PM along with the Chamber of Commerce. NewsPortRichey was alerted to the event by the group’s spokesman and former New Port Richey Councilman Bob Langford.
In other historical news, the West Pasco Historical Society says it is resurrecting Founders Day in New Port Richey. The date will be October 24, 2015 and the event is currently being planned. The group has invited members of the area’s founding families and there will be a presentation about the various families that settled the area: the Grey, Werner, and Mitchell families, among others. Tours of the Hacienda Hotel will also be provided.
