NEW PORT RICHEY, FL (Friday, Sept. 3, 2015) – The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce and the West Pasco Board of Realtors have worked with state and local officials to garner funding to improve the appeal of US 19. Both organizations are proud to announce that funding has come through via the Florida Department of Transportation as well as Pasco County, New Port Richey and Port Richey.
The West Pasco Chamber and the Board of Realtors recognize the importance of the US 19 economic engine to businesses as well as the tax base and the jobs it produces. We will be embarking on an unprecedented effort that will be unveiled on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. at the West Pasco Board of Realtors. Business leaders and the public are urged to attend this information session to learn about the forming of the “US 19 Road Maintenance Organization” (RMO). Location for the meeting is 5409 Sunset Road, New Port Richey.
This RMO will take the responsibility of maintaining the medians from the cities, the county and FDOT. It will also provide advertising opportunities for the businesses involved. The plan will be outlined to show how it will improve the business climate, increase sales and provide promotional opportunities The plan for US 19 includes not only landscaping but may include signage for businesses involved as well as the possibility of renaming the most used highway in our county.
This meeting represents the biggest step forward for business along the US 19 corridor in decades and the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce and the West Pasco Board of Realtors are proud to spearhead the campaign. Participation in the RMO will be available to all businesses regardless of their location.
