Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6180 awarded Officer Corey Ray with the “Policeman of the Year” award Sunday for his work with the department this year. Officer Ray is designated as a “community oriented” officer with the department, with an emphasis on community outreach.
Officer Ray is credited with his dedication to community outreach and his willingness to “walk the beat” in town inside and outside of his patrol car. Many residents speak highly of Ray and his relationship with the community–community members called him a “class act.”
