New Port Richey, FL (Feb. 10, 2015) – Rotarians know about the work Rotary International does all around the world to banish polio, and they know they cannot stop until the disease that kills and cripples is eliminated.
So, the Rotary Club of New Port Richey will participate in the 2015 Purple Pinky Day in front of Publix at the Southgate Shopping Center on Monday, Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to spotlight Rotary’s global polio program. This club will be one of the thousands of Rotary clubs worldwide who will be in their own communities doing the same thing on the same day.
The New Port Richey Rotarian in charge of Purple Pinky Day, Nanci Larson, believes that this is an excellent opportunity to bring awareness to the community about what Rotary does by helping to eliminate polio.
Ms. Larson commented that “by shaking hands and talking about what our club does through Rotary International’s Foundation, we hope to let people know what Rotary is doing with polio eradication worldwide. It’s important people learn about Rotary’s impact even from the community level.”
Ms. Larson invites the public to stop by and learn more about the Purple Pinky Day.
