Sheriff and New Port Richey Prostitution Sting Nets 14 Arrests

A joint operation between the New Port Richey Police Department and the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has led to the arrest of 14 women, according to the organization’s Facebook page.

The ages of those arrested ranges between 20-47. No Johns were arrested in the sting operation. The charges are mostly “offer to engage in or commit prostitution,” “prostitution,” “possession of a controlled substance,” and “violation of probation.”

NewsPortRichey will not publish the names of alleged sex workers, but will post names upon determination that an individual meets public figure status, such as a government employee.

Many law enforcement organizations, including the FBI, have stepped up efforts to focus on pimps and johns, rather than the prostitutes themselves. This is particularly significant when considering that no males were arrested in this operation, only prostitutes.
