New Port Richey approves lease of Cavalier Square to Dulcet Restaurant

New Port Richey City Council voted last night to approve the lease of Cavalier Square to the soon-to-open Dulcet restaurant for outdoor seating space. Some concerned business owners had previously asked for clarification about whether the parking lot adjacent to the square would be leased as well. City staff and Council members cleared that up by clarifying language in the ordinance that stated the parking lot is not to be leased.

The owners, David Hall Jr. and Nelson Ohihoin, plan to seat about 80 people outside. The indoor capacity of the restaurant is expected to be about 170 people. Outdoor live Caribbean music is planned for the patio. Dulcet will server a menu of European, African and Asian food.

The location was previously vacant but had also formerly held a Moose Lodge and a nightclub.
