New Port Richey building officials demolished a structure at 6021 Louisiana Avenue last week under order from city council and the City’s “Slum and Blight” ordinance.
Under the City’s ordinance, if a structure meets one or more of seven criteria, the structure can be designated as “blight” and ordered demolished. All of the criteria relate directly to the safety and well-being of surrounding structures and residents, and the structural integrity of the buildings. The City currently has a pending list of structures that are to be demolished.
The property at 6021 Louisiana is currently listed as belonging to the estate of Valentina Zam. A property on Las Vegas Drive in New Port Richey is listed as the primary address.
