Grocer ALDI Considers New Store on Southeast Corner of Main St. & US19 in NPR

Popular discount grocer Aldi is considering the purchase of a property on the Southeast Corner of US19 & Main Street in New Port Richey, according to a proposal on the upcoming New Port Richey City Council agenda for tomorrow, February 6.

Documents submitted to the city do not include an exact address for the store, but New Port Richey is considering tomorrow the sale of 0.2 acres of the existing River Road Church property, currently owned by the City of New Port Richey. The City has sought buyers for the River Road property for some time, in addition to other recent holdings including the Hacienda Hotel property on Main Street.

UPDATE: The City of New Port Richey City Council last night approved the sale of 0.2 acres of the River Road property for $35,000.

ALDI currently operates more than 1,600 stores in the U.S. The company is based in Germany. According to their website’s FAQ page:
