New Port Richey Mayoral Candidate Forum – Thursday

Rock the Boat Productions, a local event planning and marketing company, has organized a candidate’s forum for the two candidates in New Port Richey’s mayoral race, with the election set for April 7, 2017.

The candidates are:

Mayor Rob Marlowe
Incumbent New Port Richey Mayor Rob Marlowe
Challenger Ed Beckman, Ret. Major PCSO

The forum is planned for this Thursday from 6 – 7:30 PM in downtown New Port Richey at the offices of People Places, LLC, a development group operated by Frank Starkey. The address is 5742 Main Street, New Port Richey, Florida 34652.

According to the event’s Facebook page:

Listen up residents of incorporated New Port Richey! You have the power to influence the future of this City and it is easy to do. All it takes is a little effort to inform yourself and to show up at the New Port Richey Recreation Center to vote on April 11.

You think your vote doesn’t count? Maybe not so much on a national level, however, with an average voter turnout of 13.47% in New Port Richey’s municipal elections, your vote counts a great deal here. In the last 2016 City election there was a total of 1,847 votes cast out of the entire population of our City!

It’s time to come together as a community and make your voice heard for what you believe in. Please join us on Thursday to meet your Mayoral candidates and learn about their plan for our City.

The forum will be held at People Places and moderated by local attorney, Dionne Blaesing. This is not meant to be a debate, but an opportunity for each candidate to share their vision and let us know how they feel about various issues that are important to residents. We will be taking written questions from the audience that will be conveyed by the moderator at the end of the forum.

This is your opportunity to make a difference. If you are a registered voter and live in precincts 25, 50, and 60 YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE in this municipal election!
