Seven students from Mittye P. Locke Elementary school will represent New Port Richey at the Odyssey of the Mind “World Finals” at Iowa State University later this year after winning 1st place at the State level. To become champions, this team has put in long, demanding hours after school and weekends for over seven months. The school is seeking donations to help provide lodging, food, registration, and travel expenses for each child, one parent per child, and 2 coaches.
The team is from Mittye P. Locke Elementary and is the only elementary level team in West Central Florida to be invited to the World FInals. This is the second year in a row that this same team of students has been invited.

Mittye P. Locke is a Title 1 school, with 83% of our students qualifying for free-lunch. The team needs $15,000 to help them attend the World Finals. The school is seeking donations to help support the students in the following amounts:
- Platinum Donors – $200.00 and above
- Will be recognized on our School Marquee on the busy street of Trouble Creek for 1 week. Recognized as a Platinum Donor on our School Facebook Page.
- Will be recognized as a Platinum Donor in our weekly electronic newsletter that gets sent to over 600 families.
- Gold Donors – $100.00 and above
- Will be recognized on our School Marquee on the busy street of Trouble Creek for 1 week.
- Recognized as a Platinum Donor on our School Facebook Page
- Silver Donors – $50.00 and above
- Will be recognized on our School Marquee on the busy street of Trouble Creek for 1 week.
