City Council Candidates’ Forum Tomorrow Night 6 PM

New Port Richey, FL (March 15, 2016) – With the city elections fast approaching in early April, the Green Commerce Association (GCA) is holding a candidates forum for the benefit of residents in New Port Richey. The forum is tomorrow night, Wednesday, March 16 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall (5919 Main St, 34652).

Candidates invited are Chopper Davis and Jeff Starkey, who are currently incumbents seeking reelection, and the challengers are Ahmad Fagouseh, K. Vance Ray, Larry M. Anderson and Rob Oman.

Travis Morehead, the president of the GCA, will be the moderator of the event. Each candidate will have the opportunity to make personal statements about their reasons for running. They will also be answering questions from forum organizers and city residents. In fact, residents are encouraged to send their questions in advance of the forum to Mr. Morehead at Travis Morehead at steelwindow@hotmail.com. The deadline for these questions (March 13) has passed.

The format for the debate is as follows:

Travis Morehead is the moderator of this forum and will explain for everyone how the questioning will proceed.

He will also explain that the forum is not a debate nor is it about politics, but rather an opportunity for city residents and businesses to get to know their future council members. Will ask audience to conduct themselves in a dignified and respectful manner. Travis then introduces each of the 6 candidates and explains the process to the audience.

1 minute for each candidate to introduce himself (from L to R)
2 minutes for each to the first (GENERAL) question (R to L)
2 minutes for the second (SPECIFIC) question ( random selection)
2 minutes for the third (GENERAL) question (from L to R)
1 minute for closing remarks (R to L)
The Green Commerce Association is dedicated to supporting, encouraging and assisting businesses and residents of West Pasco in developing a resilient and sustainable community. It focuses on educational programs and community development activities related to sustainability, with a particular focus on economic sustainability.
