NPR and Chamber of Commerce Host the West Pasco “Business Challenge”

New Port Richey, Florida – The City of New Port Richey, in conjunction with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting the West Pasco Business Challenge as part of the 23rd Annual Business Development Week on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Richey Suncoast Theatre located at 6237 Grand Boulevard in downtown New Port Richey.  The City’s Economic Development Director, Mario Iezzoni stated, “The business challenge will be a competition intended to highlight local talent and innovators of new products and services similar to the television show Shark Tank.  All local entrepreneurs and small businesses are encouraged to enter as it will provide exposure and networking opportunities.”

Idea submissions for the West Pasco Business Challenge will be reviewed by a committee of experts who will choose ten semi-finalists to participate in an elimination round the week of January 18th-22nd.  Four finalists will be chosen to be vetted, on stage, the evening of the January 27th.  Finalists will have five minutes to convince the “sharks” (a panel of West Pasco’s business leaders) that their idea is the winning one.  The “sharks” will follow with rounds of questioning to determine the winner.  The winners will be announced at a reception immediately following the challenge at the Dulcet Restaurant & Lounge.

All West Pasco Business Challenge ideas must be submitted in writing to Mario Iezzoni, Economic Development Director, 5919 Main Street, New Port Richey, Florida, 34652 or via electronic correspondence to no later than Sunday, January 17, 2016.
