New Port Richey, Florida – The City of New Port Richey, in conjunction with the Friends of the Hacienda and the West Pasco Historical Society, is pleased to announce that it will offer the public a tour of the historic Hacienda Hotel located at 5621 Main Street in New Port Richey on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Guests will have a chance to see what our historic architects have discovered regarding this 1920’s landmark before the renovations begin later this fall. There is no cost for the tour and groups of six will depart approximately every ten minutes with the overall tour lasting approximately twenty minutes. A signup sheet will be provided in the courtyard of the hotel on the day of the event and tours will be on a first come, first served basis. Please note that due to the pre-renovations of the building no one will be allowed inside without the supervision of the tour guides. Guests are permitted to explore the outside grounds and view the architectural drawings of the proposed renovations. Mario Iezzoni, Economic Development Director stated, “We encourage everyone, before and after the tour, to walk our authentic Old Florida downtown to witness its renaissance and feel free to patronize our many restaurants, quaint shops and new businesses.”
As a special thank you to all of the volunteers who participated in the hotel’s cleanup days and current Downtown businesses, the City will host a special VIP tour on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
