New Port Richey, Florida – The City of New Port Richey’s Development Department is pleased to announce a new program to help residents repair and improve the exterior of their homes. The Home Improvement Reimbursement Grant (HIRG) Program will provide up to $5,000 in dollar-for-dollar matching funds to eligible homeowners. Reimbursement grants can cover up to 50 percent of the cost of materials and/or labor. The HIRG Program is part of New Port Richey’s continued effort to enhance the “curb appeal.” of homes in our city. Residents are encouraged to couple home repairs with beautification elements, such as landscaping, which will have a positive impact on the attractiveness and marketability of their neighborhood. Eligible improvements include the following: driveways; exterior doors; shutters and awnings; windows; facade work (stucco, siding, or masonry); painting; roofing; fascia and soffit work; fences; front porches; landscaping; lawn irrigation; and outdoor lighting. Homes must be owner-occupied in order to qualify for the program. Household income and the assessed value of the property will also be taken into consideration when determining eligibility for the program.
