Tampa Share Transmissions on Wednesdays
Starting First Week of July – July 1, 2015
Starting the first week of July, and until mid-August, Tampa shares will be transmitted on Wednesdays. New Port Richey shares will have pick ups on Thursdays. We will likely return to Thursday Tampa transmissions in August.
Summer Items Picking Up
Summer items are starting to pick up, but the gardens are not yet at full summer production. We should have modest quantities of okra, and a few eggplants. Most herbs are available. Also, plenty of Sweet Potato leaves!
Summer Favorite Returns: Sweet Potato Leaves
Some of you are familiar with the secret summer green — Sweet Potato Leaves. They are delicious and have many culinary uses. Every year about this time, we begin listing these nutritious summer greens, which are very popular in Asia, but little known in the USA. See the section in the Farm Report on these summer greens, and see also the link to some great recipes for them.
Okra Taking Off
See the section on okra on the Farm Report. You’ll find some great recipes there as well.
Seedlings & Seeds for Summer Planting Season
If you are planning a summer garden, we can supply a number of reliable high-yield summer favorites: okra, lima beans, and peanuts.
We have okra seedlings – $2.00 per seedling ($1.50 for shareholders), $3.00 for two ($2.40 for shareholders), $5.00 for four ($4.00 for shareholders), $8.00 ($6.40) for nine.

We also have a wide assortment of organic seeds, some from the 3F gardens and others from Seed Savers Exchange. Let us know the type of seed you’d like and we’ll supply them to you – $3.00 a pack ($2.40 for shareholders).
Let us know the variety and quantity of seedlings and seeds, how many you’d like, and how to best arrange transmission.
Hey, don’t forget the red worms: If you would like some high quality red worms for your compost drawer or outside pile, let us know. We are asking for a donation of $5.00 for a container of 50 (at least).
