New Port Richey Officials Negotiating for VA Facility at Empty Community Hospital

New Port Richey’s City Manager, Debbie Manns, is currently keeping her eye on a bill presented in the United States Congress that is being supported by local Rep. Gus Bilirakis.

That bill proposes a new project for a 114,000 sq. ft. outpatient clinic. The clinic would replace five other smaller facilities, all of which are currently located in Port Richey. In a congressional submission cited by Manns, the project is required due to the current facilities being “insufficient to meet the needs of the market.”

The report states that a “new lease” is  the most preferential. The existing Community Hospital site on Grand Boulevard in New Port Richey would be the obvious choice for such a facility.
