New Port Richey officials say that the Edgewater Motel demolition was completed December 19th, an order undertaken as part of the City’s blight ordinance.

Demolition on the property had begun in June of 2013 but was not completed until this week. City leaders had been frustrated with the building’s continued blighting of the surrounding area along US19. The Edgewater has not been the only motel in New Port Richey causing issues, and the City has passed ordinances aimed directly at alleviating the problem.
