Shana Dorsey, 30, of New Port Richey was killed crossing US19 last night around 7 PM just south of Main Street in New Port Richey. According to police, she was not in a crosswalk at the time that she was struck by a2008 Pontiac SUV traveling in the north bound lanes.

Police say no charges will be filed in the incident and the driver, James Pacino of New Port Richey, was not injured.

This pedestrian death is the fourth in the last six months and the third on US19 after two other pedestrians, one of them pregnant, were killed crossing from the Wing House north of Main Street.

There has been heavy construction in the area in recent months with some lanes closed.
