Weekly Weather Report: Dry Summer Continues

Last Week (8/15-8/22): No report.  Weather reporter was out of the area.

Regular weather reports will recommence in next week’s Farm Report.

This Week (8/23-29): WU is forecasting above normal highs and normal lows in the coming week, with good chances of rain earlier in the week.  A cool front will reach into Florida early in the week, and may make it as far as central region.  This is early in the year for a cool front.  We’ve had two other cool fronts this summer, perhaps caused by the weakening arctic vortex, although that usually influences fall and winter temperatures.

Tropical System Update: A number of sources are forecasting that the tropical system in the eastern Caribbean will become a tropical storm (Cristobal).  Recent models have extended its possible path further to the west, close to or over the state for Florida. Be attentive in the coming week, check local weather sources, and Weather Underground: http://www.wunderground.com/
