New Port Richey Police Chief Kim Bogart asked City Council last week for approval to reorganize the City’s emergency dispatch. Chief Bogart cited prolific turnover in staff as a serious concern, and Council voted to approve his plan to change the part-time based dispatch department to nine full time positions.
The jobs are currently available and posted on New Port Richey’s website. The positions pay $14.64 an hour and require a high school diploma or GED and two years of full time experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. New hires will need to complete extensive training and must pass a state certification within one year of hire.
