Tuesday was election day in a number of municipalities in Pasco County. In New Port Richey, Rob Marlowe defeated Bob Langford with a margin of 55% (465 votes) to 45% (381 votes) for Mayor. Both Marlowe and Langford have served terms as New Port Richey City Council members, Langford for three years and Marlowe for six years (the last three as Deputy mayor).
Both candidates recently vacated the Council for a year: Mr. Marlowe took a year off to focus on his business–Gulfcoast Networking–and Mr. Langford was defeated in the April 2013 election by current Councilmen Jeff Starkey and Chopper Davis.
In Port Richey, a tight race for Mayor was won by incumbent Eloise Taylor with a margin of 53% (211 votes) to 47% (189 votes).
