New Port Richey, Florida — New Port Richey Mayor Rob Marlowe announced his candidacy for re-election in November of 2016, and as of writing no other candidates have publicly announced an intention to run.
The City Municipal Mayoral Election will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. All registered voters of the City of New Port Richey will have the opportunity to elect one person to serve as Mayor of the City of New Port Richey. The mayor shall be elected for a term of three (3) years. Candidates for this municipal elective office must be registered voters and have resided within the corporate limits of the City of New Port Richey for at least six months prior to the election. Qualifying begins on February 14, 2017 at noon, and ends on February 21, 2017 at noon. No applications will be accepted after that time. Persons wishing to run for office can receive their qualifying documents at the Office of the City Clerk Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Qualification papers require a small fee, and all candidates must follow strict financial disclosure guidelines and political advertisement rules. Information on these rules can be obtained at the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Office.
