The Nature Coast Real Food Project held a Permablitz at the home of Faye and John Kropik on Saturday, June 14. What is a Permablitz? It’s like an old fashioned barn raising where a group of neighbors get together to create or expand someone’s garden. The term comes from Permaculture which is the design system used to create edible landscaping and to grow food without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. The Real Food Project holds monthly Permablitz events and will be having free educational events on chemical-free food, food preserving, seed saving and other garden and healthy eating related topics.
