9/11 Memorial Planned for Sims Park, 5 PM

The people of Pasco County promised WE WILL NEVER FORGET after the 9/11 attacks on our country. The City of New Port Richey along with the 9/11 Committee will host its 15th Annual 9/11 Memorial.  The event will be held on Sunday, 9-11, at 5pm in Sims Park.  For the 15th Annual event we are planning a special memorial to help our citizens remember and continue healing while building  patriotism. We work to continue to unite our communities and strengthen our commitment to stand strong against terrorism.

We are delighted to announce Shallyah Fearing, the third runner up from The Voice, will be singing the National Anthem and the US Coast Guard will be providing a Fly by to start our program. The guest speakers are Sheriff Chris Nocco and Brian Anderson (CEO Veteran Alternative).

We suggest people bring chairs (there is a limited number provided) and a flower. Being the 15th anniversary of this horrific event in our history, we will lay flowers at a wreath as part of the program to remember all those who died that day in New York, Pennsylvania and the Pentagon.

It is through the commitment of various levels of government, local businesses and determined citizens that this event continues to grow and improve each year..  Through donations and volunteers we are able to provide one of the best memorials.
