NPR Library Receives $2,000 Duke Energy Grant for 3D Printer

Duke Energy has awarded the NPR Public Library with a $2000 “Community Impact” grant. These funds will be used to continue our current development of a 3D printing mobile maker cart.

We will purchase an additional Flashforge Finder, color filaments, and an additional laptop to be used for design purposes. We will also add materials to our circulating collection to help educate the public about 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD) programs. This maker cart can be used with a variety of demographics, from young children to adults entering the workforce, to groups with special needs. Beginning in January of 2017, your NPR Public Library will host workshops to teach members how to utilize the 3D printer.

Duke Energy will present the grant to the Friends of New Port Richey Public Library on Tuesday, August 16, 7PM in City Hall during New Port Richey’s City Council Meeting.
