“Wishbone,” Local Author Holds Book Signing May 13 – NPR Library

NEW PORT RICHEY (May 1, 2017) – How long would you wait for an answer to a prayer? A day, a month, a year?

This is a question posed by Deb and Bill when the one thing they wanted most in life, a child, simply wasn’t happening for them. What do you do, how long do you wait? It turns out that the wait was eleven years, and it wasn’t at all what they would have expected.

“Wishbone” is a memoir written by D.A. Plotkin and it careens through the years of infertility, trauma and well-meaning relatives. On a whim one Thanksgiving day they pushed all that disappointment aside and placed their faith into a power greater than themselves…a wishbone.

This is a humorous and intimate tale about Deb and Bill’s struggle, survival and ultimate surrender. This is the saga of how she and her husband “loved two children into life.”

A book signing is taking place at the New Port Richey Public Library (5939 Main Street, 34652) in downtown New Port Richey on Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ms. Plotkin will be onsite talking to visitors and signing her book. For more detail, visit her website and sample some of her current work at

D.A. Plokin resides on Florida’s central west coast. Along with writing,  she also teaches
