NPR Rotary Club Hosts Annual Chasco Boat Parade

New Port Richey, FL  (March 12, 2016) – The New Port Richey Rotary Club  2016 annual Chasco Fiesta Boat Parade that will take place on the Cottee River on Saturday, April 9.  The parade begins at Hooters on Miller’s Bayou in Port Richey at 1 p.m. It will meander south on the river arriving at Sims Park around 1:45 p.m.  Boat entries are needed and may be either businesses, schools, nonprofits, organizations, individuals or families. This year’s theme is “It’s about the Music.”


Ten cash prizes range from $200 to $1,000 and will be awarded in these categories: profit, non-profit/schools, and individual/family.  Judging is based on theme, spirit, originality and use of decorations. There is a $25 registration fee that must be submitted in person at the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce (5443 Main St., New Port Richey 34652). The deadline is April 2.  A Captains Party will be held on Thursday, April 7 at Hooters, a sponsor of this parade, at 6 p.m.

The New Port Richey Rotary Club was established in 1959 and meets every Wednesday for lunch at noon at the Spartan Manor in New Port Richey.  Woody Tucker is the current president of the club for 2105-2106.
