Additional Parking Restrictions go into Effect May 18, 2016

New Port Richey City Council late last year approved a new parking ordinance to go into effect on May 18, 2016. The new ordinance prohibits parking on grass in the “front or side yards” of a property.

The restrictions do not apply to Recreational Vehicles, watercraft, or trailers. Two-week temporary parking permits (two allowed per calendar year) will be available free of charge.

The ordinance provides for additional parking spaces adjacent to and/or parallel to an existing driveway made of various approved materials including mulch and gravel (restrictions to the design apply). The ordinance also requires a permit for any construction of driveways and specifies requirements for the construction.
