The Fifteenth Annual RiverLights Boat Parade will take place on the evening of December 6, 2014 on the Pithlachascotee River. That evening, brightly lit boats and watercraft launch from Moonlight Bay at 6:30 p.m., to cruised past the admiring crowds and numerous Holiday parties along the banks, and finish up at Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey. The parade, which has become a Holiday staple, was started in the year 2000 by Greater New Port Richey Main Street.
The 2013 parade was especially poignant due to the untimely passing of the longtime parade Chairman, Craig Carmichael. First Place winner receives the “Craig Carmichael Captains Trophy.”
Co-chairs Steve Hunter and Chris Cafaro are moving along with their plans to make the 2014 parade the best ever. The Captains Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3 at Boulevard Beef and Ale at 7:00 p.m.
The River Lights Boat Parade is a festive way to enjoy the Holiday season here in New Port Richey!”
