I’m feeling the excitement of the season coming on. What season? Christmas? Halloween? Pumpkin Spice Everything Season? Definitely NOT that last one.
It seems like October starts a giving project season…Even though we know and cover MANY giving events throughout the year, it seems to really ramp up this month. Last year, I really wanted to start the show in October, but we just could not get everything done in time. It was very frustrating, knowing there were events to cover, and we were not yet ‘on line’.
Not this year. We are all over it. In the podcast, I talk a little about two projects designed to feed the hungry on Thanksgiving, this year. Our friends at Messengers of Hope have something in the works, and we’ll have details on that very soon…And our friends at Tapas Gastro Lounge have an excellent idea:
Have Jose cook you a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, and he will DONATE a dinner to a needy family! Are you kidding? This is the best idea, EVER. Here is the info flyer-
Our friends at Messengers of Hope have something cooking, as well…And we will have details as soon as we get them.
But the MAIN event, today, is an interview with Mary and Ed Isolani, the founders of the Friends of the Hacienda and Historic New Port Richey Group…They are the driving force behind encouraging (and helping to FUND) the ongoing restoration of the iconic old pink hotel at the corner of Bank and Main, in downtown New Port Richey.
They have some exciting news about tours of the Hacienda, which will take place on Saturday, October 29th…But what they REALLY need is volunteers to help guide the tours! This is your chance to be a part of the story, and get a glimpse into the hotel. Many people under the age of fifty have NEVER been in the Hacienda, since it was a private senior living facility for quite a long time.
Listen to the podcast, and join the effort! The last time the hotel was open for tours, they were so busy, they had to turn some folks away…Don’t get left out. Contact the Friends of the Hacienda, today.
