New Port Richey Police say a woman fired three shots through a window at TJ’s Bar in the early hours of June 7th at 5359 Grand Boulevard, New Port Richey. In an incident report, officers outlined a story of a disgruntled bar patron who became upset when the bartender refused to serve her alcohol, because she appeared “heavily intoxicated.” The alleged shooter, Robyn Gingras, 47, of 6043 High Street in New Port Richey, was removed from the bar with force by the bartender’s boyfriend and returned an hour later in a Grey Dodge Dakota. Police say surveillance footage shows the initial altercation as well as Gringas showing back up at the bar just before 2 AM and firing three rounds into the front window, breaking the glass and destroying a 55-inch LG flat screen TV. The bartender was inside the building when the shots occurred.
Police interviewed Gingras at her home after the incident, where Gingras told Police she did not own a gun. Police say she was intoxicated during their interview. Later, during a search of the house, police found an unloaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun under a couch, according to the report. Police also found a spent shell casing matching the caliber of the weapon in Gingras’ vehicle and a live .40 caliber round at the scene.
New Port Richey Police arrested Robyn Gringas on a felony charge of Throwing or Shooting a Deadly Missile Into an Occupied Structure or Building. She was released from Pasco County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
