Qualifying to Run for City Council
New Port Richey, Florida — The City Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. All registered voters of the City of New Port Richey will have the opportunity to elect two persons to serve on the City Council. Both city council members shall be elected for a term of three (3) years.
Candidates for elective office in the municipal election must be a duly registered voter and a resident of the corporate limits of the City of New Port Richey for at least six months prior to the election. Qualifying begins on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at noon, and ends on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at noon. No applications will be accepted after that time. Persons wishing to run for office can receive their qualifying documents at the Office of the City Clerk Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
