Yoga Studio Offers Expanded Studio, Free Workshop

Spread the love

Port Richey, FL (June 23, 2015) – Flow Yoga Studio (7711 Grand Blvd., Port Richey) co-owner and teacher, Faith Bevan has returned to the studio after a six month battle with cancer. During her chemotherapy she put a call out to Yoga teachers in the area, asking for help in keeping the studio running. Many area Yoga teachers answered the call and filled in so that she and her family could focus on the battle for her life.

The chemotherapy treatments may be over, but recovery is slow. While she has returned to teaching a few classes a week, much of her energy is spent on the business side of running a studio. The roster of additional teachers at Flow now  includes Angela Brunda, Jamie Wojciechowski, Sarah Hawks, Elaine Peebles, Dr. Jay Miller, Sharon Gower Miller, Sandi Seegert, Lia Gallegos, Sacha Demby, and Justin Martz. Each teacher brings their own unique perspective and focus to the practice of Yoga.

The practice of Yoga includes giving back. Faith and John have offered many free and donation-based classes to the community over the years and this summer is no different. The studio will be offering a Women’s Self Defense Class every Wednesday in July at 12:00 pm.  Classes may be taken individually however, each week will build on the information and skills of the week before. Those completing the full 5 weeks will receive a Self Defense Certificate.

Founder of the Trimm No Shin Karate and Kobudo System, Sensei George R. Trimm will be leading the classes.  Women of ALL ages are invited to learn how to protect themselves.  Classes are offered on a donation basis.

Participants will learn:

  • How not to look or walk like a possible victim.

  • The ability to help yourself if attacked

  • Moves to help you protect yourself

  • Awareness to your surroundings
